The Great Birthday – Christmas

In this sermon, we learn that this year was probably the first year that C.H. Spurgeon and his congregation celebrated Christmas on the 24th of December. Previous to this sermon, the birth of Christ was celebrated every day but the change in English culture and a desire to set apart one day in the year leads him to accede to the cultural change – that is, as long as we truly keep Jesus’ birth holy and separate in our hearts.
