The Song of Solomon –
Making Solomon’s Song My Own!

A Side-by-Side Presentation

Overview

During Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s forty-year ministry, he preached over fifty sermons on the Song of Solomon. Rarely have I heard sermons on the Song of Solomon – also called the Canticles – and I was inspired to explore his sermons. Initially, my plan was to only record each of C.H. Spurgeon’s fifty + sermons for listening. However, after the Lord revealed the grace in insight that he gave Pastor Spurgeon in writing those sermons, I realized that God had made Solomon’s Song “Spurgeon’s Song” as a matter of worship and intimacy that he took to share with his congregation! Pastor Spurgeon did say that the Song of Solomon was his go-to book of the Bible when he desired intimacy with his Lord Jesus. The question posed to me was, ‘Could it be My Song?’ After all, I say my relationship with Jesus is personal, right? Well, just how personal do you want to get? To find that out, the Lord God worked in my heart the desire to make it my own by going through each of the sermons… glean from the sermons what insight God bestowed on Pastor Spurgeon and prayerfully look to the Lord to apply what is learned.
