The Holiday Series

C.H. Spurgeon

A annual selection of Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years sermons presented in a series of annual tiers. While England does not celebrate Thanksgiving as a holiday, we chose those sermons which focused on thanksgiving. As for New Years day, we chose sermons that Pastor Spurgeon delivered that focused on the future with respect to the passing of time.

In 2023, David Marchuck Barbour wrote LOOK! a two-act play that is a historical fiction of Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s last winter at Mentone, France. He died in Mentone January 31, 1892. In David’s two act play, an expatriate American – now, London journalist – visits Pastor Spurgeon in Mentone, appearing to be there to interview him for an article. The journalist’s reasons were entirely personal… far more personal.

While writing the play, David was drawn to a number of sermons that drew him as he developed the plot and characters. He recorded those sermons for your listening.
