Millpond Ink Musing, 2015 – Of Reflections, Part 1

Now Lucifer, before his fall, was a mighty angel; one, if not the mightiest and most beautiful of all the host. I understand his duty was to hover behind and above the throne of God and to reflect back upon God the glory that He cast throughout the heavens.

If I correctly recall too from the teaching of Dr. John Barnett of Kalamazoo, MI., Lucifer came to the point over many eons that he did not reflect, but rather, he was th…e source of God’s glory and majesty. One need not imagine, however, how any creature with a freedom of will, could not be seduced to think that God’s glory was their own. Thus, Lucifer and apparently one third of the angelic host thought that and rebelled. Thus, God cast them from heaven, and while Lucifer was observed going before God in the Book of Job, it was clearly a demotion and temporary at that; as hell awaits and holds its reservations for all its intended occupants.

The question I have of us though, is can we see how Lucifer’s fall and temptation of Adam; which led to mankind’s fall, could be explained as a cosmic fallout of sin and separation? In that sense, can you envision the battle of the heavens; where neither flesh nor blood, but powers and principalities are presently and violently engaged? Can you again see how that fallout has manifested itself in the conflict of men; where flesh and blood has been spilled across many killing fields, beginning with Able and leading up to what we see happening in the Mideast?

I hope you can, and with that, I conclude Part 1.
