Millpond Musing – The Bad and Good News

Christianity has such a high bar of purity and goodness that no man can achieve such loftiness. Indeed, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, set that bar Himself being held high for our redemption. Yes, much higher than we would want to pay if we could achieve it. For some, that is the ‘bad news.’ It is bad news for those who aspire to such self-righteousness and self-sense of morality. As for the good news? We don’t have to for Christ imputed to us what we could not achieve in and of ourselves. For those who know and cherish that truth, that certainly doesn’t stop us from wanting to emulate Him, and to that end, we have the very power of God in doing so. Good New, indeed.
