Millpond Ink Musing – Today, Let Us Pray for Our Pastors

“…ye all are partakers of my grace.” Phil. 1:7

Tomorrow, I hope that all of us will attend a local church that shares the blessed Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. While I know that won’t be the case for all, I did say that I had  ‘hoped’ that was true. As for those that plan to attend, let us today pray for our pastors, ministers… reverends… those who hold out the light of the Gospel to the world around us. It is indeed a darkened place, and it is growing darker each day. Nonetheless…

It is our loving duty; first to Christ; and His anointed servants. As the Apostle Paul reminded the Philippians, he reminds us. We are also partakers of the grace that God graciously gives through those who are called to serve Him in ministry. One prayer for our church, and country’s leadership for that matter, is a minimum daily deposit in God’s bank account; thus allowing us to actively participate and partake in the building up of Christ’s body and the needs of our country. Our prayer not only draws God’s interest today, but will pay dividends tomorrow. A single prayer can be likened to a vote in an election: it may not seem much, but each counts. One prayer lodged in the heart of Jesus produces an eternal and unimaginable yield. However, if we choose to neglect our right and duty, in either prayer or voting, we should remain as silent in voicing any complaint from the pew or street as we were silent by not going into our closet.
