Millpond Ink Musing, 2015 – A True Story – My Easter Blessing

So, on Friday night I sat in a sanctuary and the sun was setting; beams streaming through a solid glass window set apart by beautiful stained glass windows on each side. The solid glass window was filthy; as filthy, I thought, as my heart before the blood of Christ cleansed me. I thought how sad it was that no one cleaned the windows. ‘You do it,’ I heard a voice say to me. So, yesterday, I went to the church with …my hefty ladder and washed them. Each was about twenty feet up, and I wanted to do them before Easter service this morning.

I was distraught when washing them. I found they were double paned, and it was the inside of the window I couldn’t clean, and there were bugs and water marks and streaks on the inside. Locked from going inside, I feared it was for naught but I wouldn’t for sure know until today. I just prayed that God would bless my obedience to His call to wash what I could from the outside.

This morning during the service, I found the windows were as clean and clear as I could ever have hoped. They were beautiful! I realized then that was how my Father saw me because of what Jesus did and His resurrection. It all depended on my vantage point. And what He allowed me to see this morning was my Resurrection day blessing for washing a few windows. He allowed me to see from the inside how He saw me.
