When Morning Truly Breaks

All is right with the world, she said –
Her world, yes.
She just woke up. Cup of coffee in hand.
If a cup of coffee is all it took to make the world better…
I’d drink it more often… I would always…
I’d give it another taste and look.
But then again, there’s another cup…
a cup to drink and all is well with my soul.
a cup to remember my Savior’s blood –
spilled out to make me his own –
a body broken – bread of life to eat.
once, my broken life; now complete.
All is well with my soul, I countered and smiled.
She agreed and smiled in return
For Jesus knows her too
And that’s when the morning broke –
altogether lovely.
