Millpond Ink Musing – Now, That’s a Big Hmmm.

I think it is a reasonable expectation that – given the direction of our nation and its place in the world today – something is in the wind (referring to the Holy Spirit.) We are facing either: (1) the imminent return of Jesus, or (2) another Jesus revolution as Father pours out His Holy Spirit and summons His elect of this generation.

Why do I say this? If America wasn’t the global economic and military leader with a semblance of Christianity, I wouldn’t mention our country as anything pivotable. However, because it is (and there is no nation with such a semblance of Christian influence today,) something is foreboding in our decay. I mentioned back in 2019 to my Bible study group that something was on the horizon, because we were celebrating the 400 year anniversary of the Mayflower arrival in 2020, and there’s just something about 400-anything that is tempting to meditate on. Then, COVID hit and all of the ensuing political turmoil. Today, we are beginning to see a chasm in our land as that imagined of heaven and hell that few will cross only if they know it exists and why it exists – sin. The point is, and as I hope you know, things are right where our Great God has them, and the Devil is on the ropes. It’s not God’s squeamishness that is raising so much muck. Our God throws light, not mud.

Anyway, curious what C.H. Spurgeon said in his discourse, ‘The Grass Withereth, the Flower Fadeth,’ “When our Lord Himself actually appeared, He came into a withered land, whose glories had all departed.” Now that’s a big, hmmm.
