To walk by faith and not by sight? What does that mean to me? It is looking past the right now of ‘what is’ to ‘what will be – beyond all that we can and will see – today and tomorrow. Yes, we see and examine everything as if reality is an illusion, and what we see by faith is real. What do we see? Christ seated on his throne.
Now, what ‘real’ we think we see? We see that too in faith – the good and bad. Here, however, faith leads us to rejoice in thanksgiving for what seems to us as either good and bad at any moment. Why? Because what is good or bad can be turned by God’s providence in a moment’s twist but the far-seein eye of faith trusts that God works all things together for good.
