The greater the reality of Christ in one’s life; the greater the degree of separation from the world; which is holiness to God.
In one way, you consider yourself a madman; leaving all that was, as nothing. Rubbish. However, it’s not an immediate separation as if you were a puppy taken from its mother and given to another loving and accepting family. You wish it were so in some respects. You wouldn’t feel so alone. It’s just that you slowly but steadily grew distant. Your Spirit telling you that grace weaned you from your old haunts and appetites, and as you looked back, your family stood in the distance and shook their heads as if they didn’t know you. You initially thought that it was them; they had changed, but truthfully, you knew. It was Christ in you. You still loved them; in some ways much more, but to them it was much less because they could not see the beauty of what was offered. It didn’t help either that you had made terrible, sinful mistakes and hurt them. They saw your belief in a new Master as a means and an excuse to escape your guilt, which He was the means; though no excuse. It is written that man has no excuse but to run to Him and believe. Go! Run! Why wait? Christ’s forgiveness is sweet, complete and eternal! Though not guiltless, you are guilt free… at peace, but not all understood did they? No, and what you soon came to learn was that they wanted through their unforgiveness to keep you tethered to the post in the backyard, and then you saw the cord was broken; as the post became a cross and you ran to embrace it.
The greater the reality of Christ in one’s life; the greater the degree of separation from the world; which is holiness to God. Be ye holy; even as He.
