Charles Haddon Spurgeon preached this sermon on June 17, 1855. Based on Romans 15:13, “The power of the Holy Ghost,” this sermon explores the outward and visible manifestations of the Holy Spirit; his inward, spiritual expressions, and lastly, his future work leading to his future, expected work. No doubt, men do not appreciate the Holy Spirit for the work that he performs in the redemption of sinners… convicting us of our sin… chastening us in our sanctification. As Simon Magnus, we would dearly love the power of the Holy Spirit if it brings us attention, but what of humility? Sacrifice? Here is where the power of God is manifest in the Holy Spirit.
