Charles Haddon Spurgeon preached The Bible, March 18, 1885, at the Metropolitan Tabernacle. The sermon was based upon Hosea 13:12, “I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.” In this sermon, Pastor Spurgeon presents a historical survey of the Bible in its craftsmanship and challenges the listener to consider the evidences that the Bible is the Word of God and what he has to say to us is no strange thing.
MY THOUGHT: A very simple and yet profound survey on why we can trust the Bible as the Word of God. A Victorian era apologetic, though I suspect that C.H. Spurgeon would say with a slight smile, there is nothing to apologize for.
