Charles Haddon Spurgeon preached ‘Heaven and Hell,’ on September 4, 1855, at the New Park Street Chapel. The sermon, based on the Gospel of Matthew 8:11-12, “And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Again, not for the faint-hearted or the self-assured saint, this powerful sermon takes us to examine just who are the ‘children of the kingdom’ who shall be cast out? 

MY THOUGHT: Heaven or hell. Truth and lie. White and black. Up and down. Right and wrong. Those who know Christ and those who do not know Christ. Simple – one way or the other – nothing fifty shades of grey. If you aren’t aware of life today… nothing is simple. Why? Everything is evil… dark… and only confusion seems to reign.
