With the introduction of poetry to Heritage Crossing, and the love that Richard and Helen had for it, this piece was written to introduce the reader to both his love for Helen, but his way with words.
Love came softly, like a summer rain
Falling—gently upon his heart.
Then at last a playful sun
Bringing warmth, then dazzling flame.
A wild rose blossomed
At the base of an Ironwood tree.
Petals wide—embracing all—
A sweet nectar kiss
Caught by the wind
To alight on the cheek of the lonely.
