Charles Haddon Spurgeon preached Sychar’s Sinner Saved on April 13, 1890, at the Metropolitan Tabernacle. When I first read the title of the sermon, I wasn’t familiar with the name of the Samaritan Village, Sychar. Now, I know that this was the village that the Samaritan woman met Jesus at the well, and Jesus asked her for a drink of water. While most Christians have heard sermons or were involved in Bible studies that spoke to that woman, I think the listeners of this sermon will walk away greatly affected by Pastor Spurgeon’s telling of the story.
