God is immutable. We are told that He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. However, many do not accept that. God is merciful, and because He is, they believe His mercy will sway Him. Besides, they will say, doesn’t the Old Testament say in places that God repent?
Well, many will scoff at this, but what would you say if I told you that God’s immutability was founded on what was established before the very foundation of the universe and time was laid? And that included such times as we are told that God repent; thus, in His plans, He demonstrated His mercy when only justice was to be expected. Did this not speak of God’s greater plan? Thus, I see life and time, as we know it, laid out as a carpet. In Revelation 21:6 where it is announced, “It is done,” we will find it rolled up even as the scroll from which it came before creation. As for Jesus, Whose name is the Alpha and Omega, why do we think of those terms as a beginning and end point; to which the end point is not yet reached? Why don’t see the two as one; converged but not yet experienced in our lifetime? Isn’t that what God meant when He introduced Himself as I AM? Immutable? One Who changes not and inhabits eternity?
Just my view.
