If we do not clearly understand that our flesh is our most deadly foe, and it desires to ensnare us, then I fear we have lost already. Inasmuch we are not given a new and immortal body upon coming to Christ, what does that tell us about the battles that we should expect and how important it is to take up the whole armor of God? Our soul lives within the very tent of it’s enemy, as Samson did Delilah. Don’t play games as if riddles will protect you. Only the Word of God does that and Jesus is our surety.
We may live now for a time within the same old earthly tent but the covering the true believer has is the blood of Christ. It is extremely important that you know the foe and it is threefold: the flesh, the world and Satan. One we live in; the others we may either invite in to suffer our own consequence in chastening or who may stand banging at the door as happened in Sodom and Gomorrah before its destruction.
I am convinced that once we see our flesh as it is: sinful, covetous and demanding of our time away from our most Holy and Lovely Lord and Savior, we will see death and the putting off of this tent as a blessed day indeed. One that will lead us to putting on a new and immortal; glorious body that shall reign forever.
