Neither Left Nor Right

Speaking in reference to the law, God told Joshua not to turn from it to the right hand or to the left hand, that you may prosper wherever you go. (Joshua 1:7)

Here, we have an interesting image of the rightly divided word of God; which I take as: Don’t spin to the right as to the meaning of the words; or turn to the left in the application of those words as it relates to the law. If you stay true, you shall prosper wherever you go; which I find amazing! Why? Because so many Christians agonize over determining God’s will regarding the ‘wherever’ they go but may discount how they go in spirit and in truth.

My take on this? Set your bearing on obeying the things of God and step out in faith and follow the inclination of your heart wherever that may take you. Therein you shall prosper. But neither turn left or right as to your understanding of the law or applying it to your life in every situation.
