I have no desire to reserve heaven for myself by elevating myself above others by speech or suggested good works (as if such would work.) The fact is, the sincere believer feels no pleasure in the death of the wicked as does His Father, and a son may even feel partially to blame in their passing. If only I could have gone to them! To tell them the Good News! Maybe they would have turned! They would have cried out!
Religion seeks to restrict its membership and to set the terms of entrance. Jesus tore down the partition to set all captives free! Isn’t that what we need to proclaim this weekend as Resurrection Day springs anew and as the wicked, without it’s dawning on them, stay within the darkness that fell over the cross three days prior?
