At creation, God called good all that He spoke and brought into existence. Consider too the draught that started on the day that Elijah announced to Ahab that there would be neither rain nor dew until he spoke again! For three years the land was parched! Is your family suffering because of a similar draught of His words in your home, community… land?
Oh, Christian man or woman, can we say that goodness falls …from the words we speak? If our heart is the fount of God; through His Spirit, it should be so! If not, do we prayerfully ask Father to make it so; let the words of His blessing fall from our lips? Do our words bring life? Revival to those broken in spirit and desperate? Do His words fill our hearts, as the widow’s jars of flour and oil; providing us the everlasting ingredients; not only to sustain us, but to feed those around us the bread of life? (1 Kings 17)
What do our words bring?
If every word a drop of rain;
a sentence; then a stream,
think what grace would spill on us!
When, in Christ, our thirst; not Spirit, is quenched,
by the very words we speak.
