Millpond Ink Musing, 2015 – Of God’s Attributes and Our Trust

When I speak of the attributes of God, what do you think? Do you think of qualities; such as God’s wisdom, power, omnipotence, mercy, justice, omnipresence, immutability and so on? Some of these may be thought of as qualities in a man, but of God? No. Such attributes speak to His nature; His essence…perfectly and permanently reflected in and through His eternal Being. It is in this sense that God gave His name to Moses as I AM. And it is for that reason we can trust Him to finish what He began because we are told that He inhabits the hearts of His people; thus, even now, bringing us in through His Son to His wonderful kingdom.
