Millpond Ink Musing, 2015 – Of Accountability

When our fear of God exceeds the fear of men, we will become as the jailer, who upon feeling the earthquake, feared the loss of his inmates, and the risk of his own life for their escape. Then, upon finding Paul and Silas still in their cell, what did he do? He feared God and what? He released them! How could this be? Didn’t he still have to account for the men in the morning? Yes, but he knew then where his greatest accountability existed. He and his family were saved.
