There are many who notionally know of God and sin; that is, mentally and speculatively, but they really don’t know God. To know God ‘really’ involves what is apprehended by both the heart and mind. It embraces a reality of God that affects a sort of ‘survivalist’ will and desire to serve Him here in this world in order to pursue the next. At this point, there is a transitional change in view. The present world becomes strangely notional and is seen as a thorny and dangerous patch. The kingdom of God? It becomes the real; the longed for, and although unseen, the substance and evidence of what truly is, was and always will be for those who are found in Christ.
