I Wish It Was Easier

I wish it was easier to smile
But as I got older
Gravitation has wrought a furrowed brow
A second chin, elephant ears
And a distinct downturn in the corners of my mouth.
What’s so odd is
All my life I’ve stood on my head.
You’d think gravity would have been kind.
