Heritage Crossing–Chapter 15 Snippet

Author’s Notation: The kids played the game and they now know where they will visit on their trip. Richard has a moment to himself.

Richard leaned back in his recliner. All in all, it was a good day. Prudy finished her
game out on a limb with Mary Hayward, meaning that they’d be going to
Lancaster, Massachusetts on their car trip. They’d go to Deerfield next and
visit where Joshua Carter lived and died. Their travel plans were now set. He
looked at David and Prudy as they playfully roughhoused in the front yard and
chased fire flies. This was the first time that he came to see what Helen had
seen in developing a relationship with her daughter and grandchildren. In
realizing what he had missed out on, but what he had gained, it was indeed a
winsome and lose some day.
