Have You Ever?

Oh, the ache…
the hollowness that…
what can I say?
A vacancy…
one that can seemingly never be filled…
not by human emotions…
touch…
or conversation.

The fellowship I long for us
transcends everything that I’ve even known…
expressed…
felt…
believed could exist…
until…
the day that Christ came…
entered…
filled my soul;
with joy and gladness;
but then, I thought of you…
yes, you! Who do you think I’m writing this for?
The one reading this!
Who are you?
Where are you going?
Can I possibly go with you?
Can you ever know?
How much you’re loved?
What price He paid?
And then the hollowness returns…
if only I could reach out to you in love…
touch…
but all I can do is pray.
