Charles Haddon Spurgeon preached Christ’s People – Imitators of Him on April 29, 1855, at New Park Street Chapel. The sermon, based on Acts 4:13, “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” challenges us to live boldly in Jesus. In this sermon, Pastor Spurgeon tells us what a Christian should be. Secondly, when he should be so; thirdly, why he should be so; and then fourthly how he can be so.

MY THOUGHT: The idea of imitating Christ is not to engage Jesus as an actor would a character in a play. Rather, the Christian – being in Christ Jesus – will find Christ’s life engaged in ours as he lives his life out through us in the power of his Holy Spirit, as predicated on the will of the Father.
