There is a great mystery and secret to a Christian’s life that the world outside does not understand, neither can the world know. In fact, many who profess to know Christ do not know it, even though they exemplify a godly, moral, and knowledgeable life outside. In this sermon, Pastor Spurgeon clearly explains the distinctions that exist within the life of a true believer – the secret garden of the mind, heart, soul, and spirit, and the flow of living waters to the outside world.

PurchaseMain Theme(s)
The relationship of the Christian with his Lord is secret in the sense of what is internal to the Christian’s mind, heart, soul, and spirit. This is brought out in the ‘garden enclosed of my sister, spouse.’ Therein, we are protected and secure.
The relationship of the Christian with his Lord, however, is no secret to the world outside of the garden, where the living waters flow to the world wherein the Christian lives. Here, the outside world will bring us bodily difficulties, trials and temptations.
Impression: I really enjoyed, and found my life enriched, in listening to this sermon. Pastor Spurgeon’s insight into these two verses, and his application to our lives in Christ Jesus – one aspect, secret; another aspect, not meant to be kept secret – had a considerable impact on me. I believe this sermon will also impact you.
