“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14, 6
Call me arrogant for believing that Jesus is what he said, but He is the only way, the truth and the life as proven through His resurrection. To me that is absolutely the most refreshing statement that a man who has ears to hear can hear and turn to find true peace. In this world that celebrates its ‘diversity’ in sin and acceptance, that’s really nothing new. As a matter of fact, the growth in world population since the beginning of man might have increased the total of sin in numbers, but the current generation has added absolutely nothing new to the sin menu. What I have found, however, in America is that man in sin has increasingly become more base; brutish; allowing the lusts of their bodies to rule their hearts and minds. Hence, we see on the rise the wanton homicide and mass murder rates; the flaunting of human sexuality, pornography and theatre; illegal drug use and death; community violence and the destruction of the family unit. Believe me, I do not judge for I know the temptation of sin. But I also know that when the consequence of our sin catches up with us, we first and foremost blame God! Of course (and I say this admittedly sarcastic), there is only one God to blame. On the other hand, there certainly cannot be only One God to save! Oh no, no….there are many ways to find God, but only one to blame. Why is that?
I love the fact that there is only One Who is the way, truth and the life! The simplicity alone of the Gospel message is wondrous! To know the sweetness of His presence is beyond praise. To know the certainty of His love and commitment to lead us through our darkest hours…. this is only something that you must experience to know. I would love to share my experience with you… if only a glimpse, but I’m only an old, white guy. What do I know? I don’t know the depth of your anguish; pain, but I do know that He knows. He suffered. He wept. He bled. He died, as perhaps your son or daughter, father or mother, cousin…. It hurts. Oh God! How it hurts! Yes, cry out, for He hears you. Cry out, ‘help thou my unbelief,’ and He will answer.
I love you guys and ladies. If you want to be on my prayer list, please comment to this link at www.millpondink.com. I will pray, and someday prayerfully, we will rejoice together because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
